SCHOOL ON THE COVER

In the autumn of 2017, the first edition of the #ScuolaInCopertina competition was born with the debut of the slogan #MissionTerritory. It ended in June 2018 with a training session on Local Public Transport, the awarding of prizes to the young winners, and then with an excursion to the Stelvio Pass in the presence of Marco Confortola, a well-known mountain guide in the area, and Ruggero Dei Casa, former head of the Soccorso Alpino di Valfurva.
The initiative was awarded the Jury's First Special Prize in the "Smart Move" competition, organised by ANAV - Associazione Nazionale Trasporto Viaggiatori (National Association of Transport for Travellers), "for having brought new generations closer to collective mobility through the activation of an original path of knowledge and training of primary school students in the use of buses, which achieved the dual objective of educating and developing children's appreciation of this mode of transport".
In June 2019, the excursion was made to Valdidentro and in particular to the Cancano lakes, in the presence of Giacomo Menini, an architect and researcher at the Milan Polytechnic, who explored topics such as 'The places of water. Architetture e paesaggi delle centrali elettrice in Valtellina', already the title of the 2012 Fondazione Credito Valtellinese volume he wrote.
Due to the pandemic in subsequent years, we had to suspend the outings, limiting ourselves to the presentation of individual prizes, as well as the prize-giving/training day.
The competition is nevertheless promoted every year to a primary school in the area served, with the hope of returning to the full format by June 2023.
